The transfer of the vessels of the KSP01 project was to take place no earlier than 2023.

However, the work was proceeding rapidly, and the first lead vessel “Vaigach” was handed over to the customer already in 2022. The remaining vessels of the project: Kildin, Rybachy, Kolguev and Toros are expected by the end of 2024.

“The first vessel will be delivered on time, there is almost no doubt about it. The situation is much more complicated with the rest vessels. Because of the sanctions, we have to change suppliers of the main equipment, make changes to the project. As a result, the deadlines will shift, I guess, by about one or two years. In addition, the vessels will definitely become more expensive, it is yet difficult to say by how much” Sergey Nesvetov, Executive Director of the NWFC, comments Fishnews.

A distinctive feature of the Vaigach vessel is the number of installed special equipment.
The installed technological complex on board of the vessel provides sorting, processing, cooking, freezing, packaging and storage of frozen products with a total capacity of 30 to 60 tons of crabs. The vessel is planned to be operated in the Barents, Norwegian and Greenland Seas.
