Sustainable fishing is an approach that allows to maintain stable catch volumes in the long term, including future generations. It is obvious that sustainable fishing is impossible without environmental friendliness and strict compliance with the recommendations of eco experts.
In the past people considered the world’s ocean as an inexhaustible source of resources: fish and seaweed were used for food, whale oil was used for lighting, pearls — for decoration, amber — in the manufacture of perfumes. The growth of the world population and the growing demand for “gifts of the sea” has shown that uncontrolled exploitation of aquatic ecosystems leads, first, to their destabilization, and then, to depletion and destruction. In contrast to increasing production, the concept of sustainable fishery has occurred.
There are no trifles in it — there are even rules governing the rate of lost crab trap decomposition in seawater. Of course, this approach makes the extraction of resources complicated, but it gives hope that the riches of the world’s oceans will be available to future generations in one or two hundred years.
The safety of the end consumer is no less important than the safety of the environment. The HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) system on vessels allows us to control all key risks and guarantee compliance with sanitary standards at all work stages. The international and Russian safety certificates, received by NWFC, not only protect the end user, but also simplify the work of our wholesale customers. In many cases, our certificates are sufficient to avoid additional checks and expenses.
All implemented environmental and sanitary practices, as well as the certificates received, are regularly updated. Our current and valid certification documents are presented on this page.
